At least I've managed to keep up with it. I had to run in a light drizzle once, and I even ran on Memorial Day. But I've completed a 5K every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And I've done strength training on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But I think it's not working too well.
I can't seem to break through my weight loss goal. Of course, the various holiday feasts didn't help much. (And I've really got to watch out for spaghetti!) But my big problem is the weakness.
For instance, yesterday's strength training. I couldn't even complete ten push-ups. I failed after only 6, and they weren't even good. All my scores are low, too, in both yoga and strength. My Wii Fit age fluctuates wildly.
And then there was Monday's run. My daughter Melissa wanted to come with me. I tried to run at her pace, and changed the run/walk down to 60/60 for her; I figured that her 11-year-old body should be up to it, and it wasn't too strenuous for me. After about a mile, she couldn't do it any more, so we switched to 30/30. She managed that pretty well, and I found it easy. (For once, I actually was conversing regularly!) I dropped her off after a mile and a half, and did the remaining distance at 100/60. It was much more difficult than I expected, especially with the relatively easy beginning.
This morning's run was way too hard, too. I did all 5K at 100/60, but I was feeling pretty tired after only half a mile.
All told, I feel like I'm getting weaker. Maybe it's an early indicator that I'm getting sick.
