A variety of obligations and injuries have kept me from doing much exercise lately. It's been almost a week.
Yesterday I finally got out and ran my 5K again. Happily, I haven't lost much of my endurance, if any. Since Omi is here for two weeks, I decided to take advantage of her language skill: she taught me to count in German. I also intend to learn basic directions from her, although she assures me that everyone in Europe speaks English.
What's that got to do with my run? Well, I don't run, I alternate running and walking. And I don't have a timer, so I count strides instead. So yesterday, I counted in German. Nothing like 336 repetitions to really cement something in your mind.
This morning I did my arms/abs workout. I stank. Too much resting! My push-ups were terrible. My sit-ups were unstable. I can't afford to ignore my workouts that long. I think I'll add a legs/back workout on Saturday this week.
Although I've been scoring consistently low on my Wii Fit age, I've gained back almost five pounds. I'm flirting with 280 again, mostly thanks to stuffing myself at the Math Honor Banquet.
Well, I won't let that happen again! Back to work!
